Season 8 is the first season of the reboot. It premiered on May 24, 2021 and ended on January 13, 2024. It will be followed by Season 9.

MindMash Express[]
MindMash Express is a separate (but still canon) spin-off of MindMash, but it was the result of season 8 being cut short to allow for more breathers. While season 8 was originally going to have 36 episodes, continuing the 36-episode tradition that MindMash had been following since 2002, it was deemed too long, so it was split up. This spin-off will not air on WJBS or any of its networks, but it’s a special series that will be released on the website in 2023.
MindMash Express was kickstarted from May 1, 2021 to September 23, 2021. Recording began on March 10, 2022 and ended on December 1, 2022, and production was completed on December 31, 2022.

- Season 8 is the first season of many things:
- It's the first season have a hiatus midway through. It also took the longest to record, taking a total of 17 months.
- It's the first season to air on JBS and later Game-JBS.
- It's the first season filmed in America, and the first to be produced by Geipa's Big Tailbone.
- It's also the first season where the episodes have official names, other than the season number and the episode number.
- It's the first season to have animation, animated in-house at WCS/JEWA Animation.
- It's the first season distributed by Thirstopia, although this season is credited to NCCPA.
- This season was recorded from December 4, 2020 to May 20, 2022 and completed on September 4, 2022.
- The theme song for this season changes periodically.
- Season 8A's intro is slightly different, but it still contains the original lightning-bolt transition that the original series had. It starts off with the WNET "Artist" theme along with Jay Sosa saying "THIRTEEN!!!!!" Then, it plays a singer counting the chords and the steps. It uses Pachelbel's "Canon in D" chord progression.
- In Season 8B and remastered prints of Season 8A, it uses an instrumental of "Wham Bam" by Clooney. Oddly, it still has the sound effects from the Comedy Central 2011 rebrand montage.
- Season 8C (or MindMash Express) uses the theme to Bob the Builder and still has the WNET "Artist" logo and a few soundbites.
- The music in the promo for Season 8A is "Soy Yo" by Bomba Estéreo, also used in Dora and the Lost City of Gold and the Grubhub "Delivery Dance" commercial. The music in the promo for Season 8B is "Fireflies" by Owl City.
- In the episode "Memories," nothing is drawn.
- The first five episodes were remastered when aired on Game-JBS. Every episode, except 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, and MindMash Express was later broadcast.
- If one doesn't count the remastered editions, 3 episodes had Level 1 theories.
- Although "Viewer Gender Confusion" is episode 36 and "Memories" is episode 34, their order is swapped on the Thirstopia website to better match the continuity.
- Season 8 has 5 species change-based episodes (1, 3, 4, 13, 17) and 4 animal hybrid-based episodes, and 27 episodes based on other things.
